Not that kind of split, but just as tricky. Just when you thought you had it all locked down, your lifting is feeling good, Cleans coming along nicely. Boom! Split Jerk mutha Flippa! I am going to presume that you have been in your bedroom, listening to Emo tunes, and practicing the Split Jerk footwork as instructed after last session on the lift. If that’s not the case, when we warm up the lift with the broomstick, you had better pay attention, because unless your footwork is the sickest looking thing since our new Hoodies, then you are still a beginner and the broomstick is the best thing that could happen to you right now. Switch on, pay attention to what you are doing, be consistent in what you are doing and get it right. Add load ONLY when footwork is spot on and consistent for BOTH reps. You are going to completely ignore that last part so I will write it again “Add load ONLY when footwork is spot on and consistent for BOTH reps”.
If you are not progressing your technical skill with this lift you are wasting your time. This is skill over strength.
Don’t waste your time or mine…
